Awareness Video that would introduce people to the issue on the microsite.
Ubuntu Football is a non-profit organisation based in Cape Town, South Africa encouraging young boys nurture their love for football, develop their skills as players, focus on a sport and keep off the streets.
My group Resilient Relations
were tasked with creating a campaign to address football trafficking, an issue plaguing
the community. This brief was a collaboration between Mission 89 and Ubuntu Football.
Alongside my group members, Chas Williams, Hloniphani Mtombeni, Sokhana Kupe, Crystal Fernandes, Joshua Van Breda,
and Marcel Van Rooyen, we came up with a concept of secrets
and how everybody has one. Our focus was on spilling the
secret of football trafficking
or letting the skeletons out of the closet
. This campaign aimed to increase conversation,
create awareness, and ultimately help minimise this social issue.
We reached our target audience on social media via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram where audience would see the ad via the respective social media advertising tools or as a result of influencer sharing or posting for awareness. These posts directed users to a microsite that would present the video and direct them to a petition against Football trafficking, a call on the South African government to join the fight to put an end to this issue, to intervene, taking more aggressive action.
